This programme provides graduates with the skills and knowledge of all aspects of advancing ICT technologies. The graduates are trained to focus on the application, deployment and configuration needs of organisations and people over a wide spectrum. Computer Science trained graduates will have a special focus on computer science, digital technologies, software development, web development, and networking. They assume responsibility to manage information technologies, to administer network or database systems, and to develop new software solutions to meet specific market or organisational needs.

Duration: 2 years

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

(i) A pass in SPM with a minimum of 3 credits in any subjects including Mathematics or its equivalent; OR

(ii) A pass in Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) with a minimum of Grade C (GP 2.0) in any subject and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent; OR

(iii) A pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum grade of Maqbul and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level; OR

(iv) A pass in SKM Level 3 and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent; OR

(v) A pass in Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with at least grade B in any 3 subjects including Mathematics or its equivalent; OR

(vi) A pass in NIIT Certificate in Business or its equivalent

PROGRAMMES MODULES

Students must complete a total of 100 credits in order to be awarded the Diploma in Information Technology. They must pass all  courses prescribed as MPU Compulsory Courses, Programme Core Courses, Elective Courses and Core Courses.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

The graduates will be able to seek career opportunities such as network engineers, systems engineers, system administrators, IT administrators and database administrators. The graduates of this programme will also have the opportunity to further their studies to a Bachelor Degree in related fields at both local and private universities.
